Ramon Correa

Assistant Café Manager

Ramon grew up in food service, watching his grandparents run a bar and restaurant out of their garage in Puerto Rico. In high school, he learned to wait tables under the tutelage of his mother at the Avenue Deli in Lansdowne — an early introduction to the rhythm of hospitality and the connection it creates.

After a few years managing events at the Philadelphia Convention Center, Ramon found himself drawn back to restaurants. At MishMish, he took on his first role as a cook under Kyle McCormick and Zev Flores, where he expanded his knowledge around good food and first encountered Mighty Bread Co., while slicing loaves for service each day.

After a few years behind the line, Ramon felt the pull back to guest service and joined Mighty Bread as part of the café team. Now as Assistant Café Manager, he brings together his front-of-house experience with his in-depth knowledge of flavors — and takes great pride in making sure that Mighty Bread reflects the communal and grassroots soul of Philadelphia.
