Sarah Dash’s journey in food began when she was a teenager behind the counter of New York City’s bakeries, where she fell in love with the rhythm, precision, and quiet intensity of kitchen life. She worked at Magnolia Bakery and later at Bien Cuit, learning the craft of bread and pastry from the inside out.In 2015, Dash moved to Philadelphia to explore the world of fine dining, joining Nicholas Elmi’s Laurel, one of the city’s most respected kitchens. There, she refined her technique and deepened her appreciation for seasonal cooking and the delicate balance of flavor and texture. It was also where she met Chris DiPiazza — which would go on to shape the next chapter of her career.In 2019, she joined Chris at Mighty Bread Co., helping transform the small South Philly bakery from a three-person operation into a thriving business of nearly sixty employees. Together, they built a community-centered bakery known for its craft, creativity, and heart — earning a James Beard nomination along the way.Today, Chef Dash continues to bring a baker’s precision and a chef’s curiosity to everything she creates, blending her New York roots with the soulful energy of Philadelphia’s food scene.
